Liga F season start delayed; player strike confirmed due to pay dispute

After weeks of negotiations, the Spanish Women's Football Federation (Liga F) and the five unions representing Spain's top female soccer players have yet to agree on higher pay and improved conditions.

According to a report in As, negotiations have been going on for three days and the two sides had held talks for up to 10 hours, but no consensus has been reached. As a result, action has now been taken.

This means that starting Friday, players from La Liga Group F clubs will go on strike for two weeks. The first two rounds of the new season will be postponed and will not go ahead as planned.

La Liga F released a statement outlining their proposals to the union, which were ultimately rejected.
